The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe within the GIZ project: “Rural development through integrated forest and water resources management in Southeast Europe: Rural perspectives: qualification, reintegration and (self) employment” will support the organization of the Event 19th memorial Vitomir Dizdarevic – Admiral Kuk Drina- Sava international recreational-touristic kayak-canoe Regatta which will be organized by Kayak Club “Srpski veslaci” and which will be held in the period from 28.04.2018 till 05.05.2018 in Visegrad (B&H), Bajina Basta, Ljubovija, Mali Zvornik, Loznica, Bogatic, Sabac and Sremska Mitrovica (SER).
The aim of this Event is promotion of natural, cultural and historical potential of the Drina-Sava and Drina-Tara region. Regatta binds local communities and creates joint touristic offer strengthening the partnerships among the municipalities located along Drina and Sava rivers, especially in the tourism sector.
The specific objective of this Event is to promote active living, outdoor activities, sport and physical culture as well as healthy lifestyle. This event promotes kayak as a sport and recreational activity that reinforces healthy life and raises ecological consciousness of people. Healthy community, apart from being useful for itself, represents less of a burden for the state, due to lower health care costs.
This Event will contribute to improving of partnerships and cooperation with participants local or international, as well as establishing connections between local municipalities, self-managed institutions and individuals, with main idea to promote cultural, historical and natural heritage and stimulate local touristic potential.
