19th memorial Vitomir Dizdarevic – Admiral Kuk Drina- Sava international recreational-touristic kayak-canoe Regatta, 28 April-5 May, 2018, Visegrad (B&H), Bajina Basta, Ljubovija, Mali Zvornik, Loznica, Bogatic, Sabac and Sremska Mitrovica (SER).
The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe within the GIZ project: “Rural development through integrated forest and water resources management in Southeast Europe: Rural perspectives: qualification, reintegration and (self) employment” will support the organization of the Event 19th memorial Vitomir Dizdarevic – Admiral Kuk Drina- Sava international recreational-touristic kayak-canoe Regatta which was organized by Kayak Club “Srpski veslaci” was held in the period from 28.04.2018 till 05.05.2018 in Visegrad (B&H), Bajina Basta, Ljubovija, Mali Zvornik, Loznica, Bogatic, Sabac and Sremska Mitrovica (SER).
Starting point of the 360 km long Regatta was in Visegrad where participation took around 100 participants from Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. Regatta event lasted for 6 days and was finished in Sremska Mitrovica.
In Visegrad was organized reception at the Mayor’s cabinet. One of the participant of the regatta was Boban Ilic, SWG Secretary General who stated that SWG, through its activities is supporting development of tourism, primarily in rural areas.
Participants had a chance to visit Etno village Vrhpolje in Ljubovija. At the same time was organized food festival-preparation of goulash stew. In Mali Zvornik participants were greeted with organized folklore program. In Badovinci they were visited by the Director of their
Touristic organization. They stayed in Eco camp which is in the development phase. In Sremska Mitrovica they were guests of the Kayak Club “Val”.
All new participants were amazed by the green color and purity of the Drina river stated Dejan Jovanovic, organizer of the event.
“Wonderful and unrepeatable. Not the longest, nor is the largest. Who knows what she would have to say when she spoke… about the people on its shores, their attitude towards her and themselves. The Drina river runs quietly and is waiting for someone else to talk. Two days of great socializing with a quality team and good “ironing”, as our friend Borisa said.
